Biography Andrée

English <> French <> Spanish freelance translator. Specializes in; Natural Sciences, Agriculture, Medicine, Chemistry, Physics and Geology, as well as patents, written exchanges and contracts regarding them. Learned all three languages almost simultaneously as a child, and was awarded first honors in French and English all through Primary and High School studies at the International French “Lycée Antoine de Saint Exupéry” in Santiago. Followed the first translation course ever of the University of Chile and concurrently was awarded the English Proficiency Certificate of the Cambridge University. Attended numerous translation and interpretation seminars and workshops, both in Chile and abroad. 

Was awarded first honors in Chile for the international French spelling and grammar contest “Dictée des Amériques” and was placed third at the finals in Canada, Received, in 2012, the “Excellence in Translation” joint award, from the Catholic University and the Chilean Association of Translators and Interpreters (COTICH). 
Natural sciences teacher, graduated from the “Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile” in 1982. Was the “Life and Earth Sciences Teacher” (Geology Included) at the French “Lycée Antoine de Saint Exupéry” in Santiago, from 1987 until retirement in 2001. 
Former Vice-President of the Chilean Association of Translators and Interpreters, COTICH, Currently works on the drafts of academic papers and their translations, for the Catholic; Federico Santa María and Mayor Universities, as well as the Military Hospital of Santiago.
